He was speaking at the club’s unveiling of new players as well as new kit for this season on Friday might. Gumbo was roped in to try and bring back glory days at Moyagoleele.

The club management has made it clear that they want to win the league this season although they suffered a defeat to Notwane in the first game. GU unveiled new players, Tendai Nyamadzabo, Thabiso Khunwane and Phillip Nhete. GU also showcased new sets of kits, which include a home, away and two alternatives jerseys.

Speaking at the event, GU chairperson, Fidelis Nkomazana urged GU supporters to lead by example and not do anything that would taint the club’s image.

He said GU is a club of integrity and the management will not hesitate to deal with those who drag the name of the club in the mud.

His words were echoed by Botswana Premier League (BPL) chairperson, Mokganedi Molefe who said supporters of different clubs should tolerate each other.

He said the BPL does not enjoy punishing teams for misconduct but warned that his office will not hesitate to do so for the good of the game. It was also revealed that the club’s main sponsor, Mutual and Federal will now be known as Old Mutual.
