The duo was billed to perform in Botswana in September, but the organisers of the event Bandleng Entertainment, say negotiations have collapsed.

“We were keen on bringing P Square for the 48 Hours Independence Extravaganza, but unfortunately the two parties could not agree on certain terms and we abandoned the negotiations,” Mabitso Kesenye tells Showbiz.

The 48 Hours festival takes place at the Lion Park Resort near Gaborone between September 26 and 28.

Kesenye says after failing to secure P Squre for the event they have decided to bring in South African heavyweights Uhuru, Professor, Dr Malinga, DJ Mlu, Black Motion, Heavy K and Shota.

Locally, the organisers have roped in seasoned performers like Vee, Culture Spears and Slizer.  Also billed to perform at the popular event is house group Team Distant, hotshot drummer and singer La Timmy, Wizards as well as Mosako.

Emerging House music ensemble, Crowd Capella, will make its debut at the event.

RB2’s DJ Sly tops a list of disc jockeys who will be playin at the event. Others are Gouvier, Shaboo, Sono, Victor, Lex B, Teaz, Groovy Souls and Dallas.

Moshupa will be represented by a group of DJs known as Moshupa’s Finest; they include DJs Stranger, Lakuto, Chris G and Otis.

The event will also include a five-aside soccer tournament, beach volleyball and other fun activities.
