Under-19 boys cricket team tours Namibia

BCA fixtures and publicity secretary Sumod Damodar told Mmegi  Sport that their Namibian counterparts invited the Under-19 team.  Namibia is preparing to host an international Under-19 tournament later this month.

Damodar said the tour is an opportunity to expose the youngsters to international cricket.

He said the team has started to prepare for the tournament although most of the players are students, which interferes with their (BCA) schedule.  The team is therefore, forced to practice over the weekends only.

Obert Musimanye, a BCA development coach is in charge of the team.

Meanwhile, the national 50 overs tournament will start on August 10, although the fixtures are not yet out.

Damodar said the fixtures are being re-arranged to make room for the Under-19  team going to Namibia.

The Under-19 team also takes part in the 50 overs event.
