Kosher Nightz a star-studded event

Khuli Chana fresh from AFRIMMA awards, which were held in Texas, United States of America, says he has had a hectic 2 weeks of traveling in different time zones and fell ill on his trip.

“I will not be in Botswana due to having acute bronchitis and being prescribed bed rest till 10 August 2014 by the doctor.

Chana has a huge fan base in Botswana and a great relationship with the I Love Hip Hop festival organisers and it is with a heavy heart that I apologise that I cannot make the event tonight,” he said.

The event, which attracted a crowd dressed in nothing but butt-cheek high short pants, was a battle between South Africa’s leading rappers and Botswana’s very own.

The show kick-started with the men of the moment, KO and Kid X famous for their rendition of Cara Cara. The duo however, took to the stage before the crowd filled up the busy airport junction mall square.

On the local side, it was the self-proclaimed queen of hip-hop Sasa Klaas who had revelers eating of the palm of her hands. Apart from her hit song A Ke Mo Khandeng, featuring Scar her outfit also stole the show.

The H.A.D.S.A.N musician rocked a black transparent number that had brownish garment that only covered her back. Other local artists on the day were rappers Noello and ATI.

As the night drew closer to the end, the much talked about “rivalry” between South African based rappers AKA and Casper Nyovest was to be decided by local fans for the first time. The duo have never shared the stage in Botswana ever since their reported beef went spiral on social media.

The face off was started by AKA who had bragged about coming to Botswana in his private jet, clad in a black outfit.

The Congratulate songbird had the ladies screaming at the top of their lungs, although he kept complaining about sound quality he did not disappoint his followers.

His music rival Casper Nyovest of Doc Shebeleza fame kick-started his performance with a rendition of Hip Hop Pantsula’s (HHP) Wam’tseba Motho. The last performer with his trademark ponytail ended his set with his chart topping song Doc Shebeleza and his latest single Phumakim.
