Born Onkabetse Phiri, the 27-year-old musician has finished recording a five track EP titled Grown Man’s Business, which is already receiving some airplay on different radio stations.

The singer who is a former dancer has been in the music industry for 10 years. He told Showbiz that this time he comes back as a grown and mature musician who is yet to conquer and create a legacy in the industry.

“This time I mean business and there is nothing that will stop me from succeeding that is why my EP is titled Grown Man’s Business”

He said the road has not been a smooth one, admitting that he has faced a number of challenges.

“A number of people used to tell me that I am wasting my time and my music will not take me anywhere,” he said.  He further said a certain radio station refused to take his music because they believed that his songs were not well mastered and the beats were not up to standard.

He however said the critiques helped him grow and overcome his weaknesses. The singer has collaborated with singers such as Stany Stan, Devon and former My Star finalist Amantle.

Phiri JR II’s new EP has tracks such as Grown Man, Lalala and Till Ya Drop (Reloaded). He worked with different producers such as Dalton Quake and Clayton Clark on his project.

The singer hand distributes copies of his EP with the help of his significant other. He will be dropping an album early next year.
