Rollers Win Kabelano Cup

 

The two youngsters each scored two goals in the one-day spectacular, showing big stage temperament in front of a big crowd at the National Stadium. 

Molefe was on target in the semi final against Gaborone United (GU) where they won 2-1. He opened the score line early in the game before Kekaetswe Moloi scored the other one just before the halftime break. 

Diphetogo Selolwane pulled one back late in the game, but it was too late for as Chiefs sailed through. Molefe went on to score in the final against Rollers just two minutes into the game. 

He gave Rollers defence a torrid time although he ran out of steam late in the second half. Boy on the other hand scored a brace when Rollers routed Extension Gunners 7-0 in the second semi final of the competition. Boy who packs a great technique and skill was marvel both in the semi final and in the final against Gunners and Chiefs. 

The other five goals against Gunners were scored by Manqoba Ngwenya, Sekhana Koko, Motsholetsi Sikele, Jerome Louis and Lesego Molemogi. Gunners committed fatal mistakes throughout the game and went into halftime trailing by three goals. Their situation was not helped by the fact that the usually reliable captain, Monageng Thaele struggled on the day as well as new signing, Topo Piet. 

Rollers were later crowned champions after beating rivals, Chiefs 5-4 on penalties. 

The two sides had played to a 1-1 draw in normal time. Molefe had put Chiefs in the lead before Rollers captain, Sekhana Koko rounded Chiefs’ goalkeeper, Mompoloki Sephekolo to score the equaliser in the second half. 

Rollers were missing their first choice goalkeeper, Mwampule Masule who had traveled with the national team to Guinea Bissau. They were also without defenders, Oscar Ncenga, Otlantshekela Mooketsi, Obonye Moswate and Leutlwetse Tshireletso. 

They played both games against Gunners and Chiefs with a makeshift central defence manned by youngsters, Pako Ketimilwe and Wongaree Kaekwe. Ketimilwe was later in the final shifted to right back with Simisane Mathumo moving to the central defence. Chiefs missed striker, Onalethata Tshekiso as well as winger, Lemponye Tshireletso. Besids Molefe, Chiefs also gave Tendai Nyumasi and Keabetswe Jenamiso their debut.
