Grace Mosinyi clinches Africas most influencial award

She received the Country Finalist Award during the awards ceremony organised by CEO Communications in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Tuesday where the guest speaker was South Africa’s Public Protector, Thuli Madonsela.

She was among three Batswana women nominated in the Financial Services sector category this year. The other two are Catherine Lesetedi-Letegele, CEO of Botswana Life, and Jane Tselayakgosi, MD of Hollard.

Out of 9000 nominations, Mosinyi made it to the top 200 women who were recognised following a rigorous interview process. “This is a great achievement and honour for Grace as it signifies dedication and focus in her career,” said Barclays Bank of Botswana’s Managing Director, Reinette van der Merwe. Mosinyi said she dedicated the honour to her various role models and mentors, who include her own mother, as well as Botswana’s first female Cabinet Minister, Dr. Gaositwe Chiepe.

“I have had a great opportunity to work with, and learn from some of Botswana’s best and brightest leaders,” Mosinyi said.

Africa’s Most Influential Women awards are held annually, and feature special women from across Africa for living their lives in the way that makes them valuable role models in their societies. Botswana was among 43 countries that took part in the awards this year.//
