DP mourns Motswaledi
It is with great sadness that we hear of the tragic death of Gomolemo Motswaledi. This country has lost a great son. The leadership, structures and all members of the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) extend our sincere condolences to the Gomolemo Motswaledi family at this sad time.

His party, Botswana Movement for Democracy, has confirmed at a Press conference this afternoon that indeed Motswaledi passed on this morning following a road accident along the A1.

Motswaledi played a key role in the formation of BMD, having been an illustrious member of the ruling Botswana Democratic Party.

He was also a renowned artist and will be remembered for the formation of KTM choir, in particular.

The politics of Botswana has suffered a serious setback and this is even more illuminated as we approach the 2014 general elections.

He engaged in politics from an early age and was a source of inspiration for many young Batswana who are engaged in politics and beyond.

Botswana Congress Party joins the nation in mourning this great son and wishes his family and party courage and strength as they come to terms with his untimely departure.

May his soul rest in eternal peace

Motswaledi took his first steps politically in the BDP. He served in various sub-committees of our central committee. He rose within the ranks to become BDP National Youth Executive Committee Chairman.

From there on he became our party secretary general.

In later years we had our political differences with Motswaledi but he remains our son. Throughout our disagreements, we always shared a common interest; the well being of our people. In his sad passing, this country has been robbed of one of its brightest and most passionate sons.

We have all lost a patriot who loved this soil. We are all deeply saddened and we will keep Gomolemo Motswaledi and his family in our thoughts and prayers. BDP 2014 Facebook page
