“I am currently working on my third studio album. I hope that it will do just as well as the previous two albums,” he said in an interview with Showbiz.  Phiri further said artists should expect crippling challenges in their lives so that they are better prepared to absorb the shock of future problems. “Instead of locking myself indoors and mourning my divorce, I have decided to work hard because despite this setback, life goes on,” he said. Phiri noted that when he parted ways with his wife, who has been supportive of his career, he felt his life crumbling around him but he managed to compose himself. “The Lord has been good to me so far. When things were not going well for me, I put my focus on growing my business, Phiri Music Investments, which hires out musical instruments. My full-time job as part of the praise and worship team for Branded Hearts Worship Church also kept me busy,” said the musician who is also part of the Beatitudes ensemble. Phiri broke into the gospel scene with his debut album Morena o ba etele which was well received.  Interestingly, the artists said both his debut and follow up albums have been selling well as he worked hard to market them. He further said since he never imagined he would be divorced one day, he wasn’t prepared for the trauma that followed.

“One of the worst things that I experienced following my divorce is when people ask about my wife and I don’t know what to say to them. I hope I will be able to use my experience to counsel other Christians who are faced with marital problems,” he explained. Phiri added that his fans should expect his third album by the festive season as he wants to release a quality album.

“It will be a 10 track album like my previous two. I hope it’s well received and earns me more fans,” he said.
