Habitual Offender Alleged To Be Mentally Unstable

Tlhaselo was dragged before court on two counts of malicious damage to property. The court heard that on July 18, 2014 the accused smashed a car windscreen at Block 5 bars. He proceeded to his former neighbour Keakantse Radiloko’s house were he broke the sitting room window. In court Tirelo said he suspected that Tlhaselo who has been in court for the same offence might have a mental problem noting that the accused had exhibited strange behaviour. He pleaded with the court not to grant the accused bail as he was proving to be a lunatic.

Tlhaselo pleaded guilty to the charges. He, however, asserted that he is sane and refused to be taken for psychiatric evaluation. Makofi accepted the prosecutor’s plea and ordered that Tlhaselo remain in custody. He, however, told him he would grant him bail on condition that he doesn’t commit any crime. The trial continues on August 27.
