Two Hundred Graduates For Barclays Programme

This programme forms part of the Barclays One Africa strategy that aims to promote young talent in the region.

The course is a dedicated management development programme for fresh graduates and early career professionals and is active in all African countries where Barclays has presence. Since its inception the programme has produced over 400 graduates, seven of which are from Botswana.

“Barclays believes that this programme will promote the One Africa strategy around talent development, and that it is through this forum that we can further position Botswana as a conduit for investment into the rest of Africa through the multi-national expansion programme that help our customers and clients to invest in areas outside our borders.  It also provides us with a great opportunity to promote our culture and heritage, and position Botswana as the shining example of democracy in Africa.”

Barclays Bank of Botswana managing director, Reinette van der Merwe says, “Youth are the lifeblood of our economies in Africa. As an organisation that supports the development of young talent, Barclays Africa is striving to ensure that we play our part in developing future leaders who are able to operate globally and Pan-Africa”.
