Boko was launching Selebi-Phikwe West parliamentary candidate, Moeti Mohwasa.

He said Khama was behind the corruption that “has engulfed the country” and that if Khama sued him for that statement, he (Duma) was ready to face him in court.

“We are determined to end corruption and once in power we are going to prosecute all those who are involved and demand answers from them,” Boko said.

“Khama must avoid imprisonment by ensuring that ‘sechaba ga se senyediwe’ (the nations is not financially bled).

He added that in ‘serious countries’ like England, government leaders’ children attend public schools to prove that they have confidence in the country’s education system, otherwise such leaders are unseated right away.

Boko said in Botswana the President attends prestigious medical facilities in other countries at the expense of the health system of his own country “where many patients continue to lose lives due to poor service and shortage of medical doctors”.

The UDC leader did not spare the Botswana Congress Party (BCP) in his address, accusing the party of short sightedness on the issue of the land audit.

He said the land audit that the BCP says it will conduct once in power, is “so irresponsible” and would not address the challenge of land availability to Botswana.

“Land Boards and the Department of Lands already have the information that land audit wants. Then why is land audit necessary?

“What are you going to do after you waste public funds on that?”

Boko added that if BCP was a member of the UDC they could have advised them not to waste time and public funds as information on land use patterns is already there.

“It is silly. I challenge the party’s president to respond and come prepared in case there will be a debate for presidential candidates,” he added.

Boko said the UDC’s position is that the land planning must be done to allow timely allocation to Batswana, adding that “this does not need a land audit but brains”.

Boko added that “bootlickers” would not have a place in his government and that he does not need praise-singers to fight for him.

“I fight my own battles when I have to. I therefore challenge anybody with traces of bootlicking among the candidates that I launch to step down immediately,” he said.

Boko further added that he has confidence in Mohwasa’s capabilities and added that the parliamentary hopeful had defended the Botswana National Front (BNF) during previous torrential periods.
