The Francistown outfit struggled to shell out his dues and the player took up the matter with the PSC with the help of Footballers’ Union of Botswana (FUB).

The PSC released a judgment last week saying that after looking at the documents tendered in evidence, it decided to terminate the contract between the two parties forthwith.

“In terms of Article 22.1.3.4 of the BFA play rules and regulations, Sibanda is a free agent and may join any club of his choice,” the PSC said.

Sibanda said he was happy with the development and now hopes the club will pay what they owe him. The player is presently in his hometown, Bulawayo in Zimbabwe in search of a new club.“I am grateful for what ECCO City did for me throughout my stay there (Botswana), but, of course, towards the end, I felt I was treated unfairly.

It happens in football and holding a grudge will not help me in any way. I just need my money so that I can be able to transport my belongings home,” he said.

Sibanda was part of the ECCO side that won the 2006-2007 national title under Barry Daka. He moved to BMC in 2012 but was back at the Francistown outfit before the season ended.

He has strongly been linked with Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premiership side How Mine.
