In a statement released yesterday, the country’s second largest mobile communication company said that the newly launched prepaid data bundles, now called Mega Bundles, will see Orange mobile customers enjoy more data, more choice and more speed at reduced prices.

The launch comes in the wake of Orange’s intent to increase its customer acquisition and retention by offering relevant and cost effective data services in a bid to further strengthen its position as the leading provider of data services in the country with the fastest speed, most attractive offers and best reliability.

In a press statement issued from their offices, Orange Botswana CEO Phillipe Baudin said “this new bundle of prepaid data offering will give our subscribers more flexibility in choosing their preferred data bundle and, continuous tests we run show that fastest Internet speeds in Botswana are consistently delivered on the Orange network”.

For his part Marketing Services Manager Lebogang Moruti said, “We are confident that with our reliable Internet connectivity and now more affordable bundles, we have greatly improved the value proposition to our customers.

Moreover, this fast and convenient access to data comes at a time when Batswana are appreciating the use of the mobile Internet in the transaction of business, rather than just for personal and social communication.” Orange says it has invested more than P1 billion on its network coverage over the years.

The entire mobile network is EDGE enabled, ensuring easy data access. And, Orange continues to invest in high speed Internet.

Recently, an additional 19 villages and their surrounding communities were connected to 3G technologies, bringing the number of 3G connected areas to well over 25.   Complementing its consumer data and Internet penetration strategy, Orange says it subsidises laptops and dongles, allowing customers to subscribe for data bundles and Internet access at a reduced rate.
