Boko honours the late Kgosi Mosielele

The parties will be launching their parliamentary and council candidates at different venues in the village at the same time. The BDP’s Tshenolo Mabeo and his team of councillors will be launched at Magalatladi Primary School, while the UDC will be unveiling Kopano Rannatshe and his eight council aspirants at the open grounds in front of Thamaga Hospital.

The UDC launch will start with yet another first as the party president, Duma Boko and the secretary general, Gomolemo Motswaledi, will lead members to a wreath laying ceremony at the royal graveyard in Matsila ward. 

“The party will be honouring the late Kgosi Diratsame Mosielele, the Bakgatla Ba Ga Manaana royal who brought the Botswana National Front (BNF) to Thamaga, and was the first party candidate for the area in 1965.  Among the invited to the royal activity are; Bakwena paramount chief, Kgosi Kgari Sechele, Kgosi Mosielele of Moshupa, Kgosi Gobuamang Gobuamang of Thamaga and royal uncles,” said Rannatshe.

Before the wreath laying ceremony, the UDC will undertake a motorcade from Kumakwane bus-rank at 09:00 hours, through the village of Ramaphatle to all the four wards in Thamaga, at the royal graveyard.  From there, the motorcade will proceed to Thamaga hospital grounds where Motswaledi will be joined by other UDC leaders; among them Pius Mokgware, Member of Parliament (MP) for Mochudi East Gilbert Mangole, Mohammed Khan, James Mathokgwane, Murray Dipate and the leader of UDC Women’s wing, Binkie Kerileng, to launch Thamaga-Kumakwane candidates.

At the BDP event, also to be preceded by a motorcade, the assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Peter Siele will officiate the launch. The other speakers at that event include; area MP Dr John Seakgosing, Leo Motlhophi, Tshenolo Leshomo and Kabo Morwaeng.  Entertainers for the day will be Vee, Team distant and Lebza.
