CA Hosts Tender-Rigging Workshop

The training workshops started last year with government ministries.  They are meant to empower officers in tender committees and procurement units with skills to detect and prevent bid-rigging, also known as collusive tendering.

Bid-rigging has the biggest potential to cause harm in public procurement which is usually the major driver of many economies.

This is especially true in Botswana where government is a major economic player, the CA says.

The workshop will be officially opened by the executive chairperson of the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Board (PPADB), Bridget John.

There will also be a presentation by the Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC). The CA, DCEC and PPADB have signed an MoU to combat bid-rigging.
