Gabane Primary School Receives Computers

The  deputy school head Tshegofatso Selebogo said  the computers will come in handy as they have been experiencing a shortage of computers.

“Our students have been suffering because computers were not enough for all of them to use.

Computers are very important these days as they help the teaching environment to be easy.”

She added that the computers will improve the learners’ skills and will equip them with different ways of using the Internet for research.

“We have had them for three weeks now and already the students’ education is improving because they are now aware of different programmes the computer has and can access the Internet.

“Computers engage students more directly in the learning process, students are able to more quickly master course content and become adept at problem-solving,” she added

Selebogo said that they are also grateful to Information Technology Intergrator Company for donating the printer that is connected to the computers.

Managing director of Continuety SA said they were approached by the school after they heard that they donated computers to another school.  “Our company believes in improving the learning environment of our future generations which in this case is the youth.

“This gesture will help many students learn different skills and these skills will help them in the future when they progress to other levels of education,” he said.

He continued that the Internet will improve the students’ survival skills as they will learn ways of living even without finding work after school. He said, “we have made sure that we connect the computers to the Internet, we have also donated 50 typist chairs and 10 computer desks, to make it easy for students to enjoy surfing the net.

The computers are also loaded with Microsoft Office 2013 so we did everything for the students to enjoy their learning” he said.
