My Star Grand Finale This Friday

While the three live to dream big, some of the My Star favourites’ journeys ended abruptly last Friday. Super fly Ontefetse and the vibrant Obakeng were bid farewell after they didn’t get enough votes to see them through the end of the competition.

The two young men, over the course of this year’s competition, won a legion of fans with their unique fashion, performances and beautiful voices.

It was a heartbreaking moment for Ontefetse, as he once again saw his best not being good enough to get him to the end.

The duo, like other fellow top ten finalists, didn’t, however, go home empty-handed. They pocketed P10, 000 each.

The focus is now on the top three, who themselves commanded a huge following of the BTV hosted competition.

Boikanyo, who is not new to My Star, as he has tried many times before, has a huge fan base, as do Tshegofatso and Peter.

The one crowned the winner this Friday will walk away P100, 000 richer  will sign a recording deal, travel abroad and be given a scholarship.  The second and third prizewinners will acquire scholarships to study music related courses.

Speaking to Showbiz after the Friday show, My Star creator and judge Master Dee expressed gratitude to the fans and the public.

He encouraged the public to turn up in great numbers to the finale to support the young talent.

The grand finale will be hosted at Boipuso Hall on July 4, 2014 at 19:30 hours. The cover ticket is P500, and includes dinner.
