Moore Becomes TAFIC Boss In Absentia

The TAFIC drama continued when the absent Nawa who resigned in controversial circumstances late last year from the chairmanship was once again nominated for the position of vice chairman but lost 18-7 to Emmanuel Tabona. Tayani Chankoloba was third with six votes.

The elections-in-absentia at TAFIC extended to the other posts.

Shepard Jubane is the club’s new welfare manager. Jubane got 17 votes to defeat former TAFIC veteran player, Mmoloki BB Sechele who had seven. Innocent Evans managed six votes while fourth placed Lekgaba Pelaaelo got a humiliating one vote.

The post of treasurer was clinched by Kabelo Olobe with 15 votes, while Kagiso Marumo came second with 14 votes.

Gilbert Makombo who some months ago was the club’s interim chairperson before paving way for Manyinka Gwakula whose reign ended on Saturday is now the club’s spokesperson. He defeated Chankoloba 19-13 in the race for the post.

Tumelo Magaga was elected the secretary unopposed. So was vice secretary, Foster Machola; marketing manager, Kenneth Mmilili; and additional members, Mbako Mojanaga, Onalenna Mohako and Grator Seleka.

Moore will now face the task of turning TAFIC into a private entity and address the infighting that has been a characteristic of the club for many years. He faces the mammoth task of making sure that the club returns to the Premier League following its relegation to the First Division last season.
