BMC players ponder the future

The management has given the players up to Monday to decide what they want to do because the club may play in the First Division next season after it gave its slot in the Premier League to relegated Miscellaneous of Serowe.

“We were given an update on the Gunners deal and the Miscellaneous name change. So, we are to think over whether we want to stay with the club or move. We will meet again on Monday to give feedback. Those that want to move and have running contracts will be sold,” said a BMC player.

BMC chairman, Daroush Ghodrati confirmed meeting players this week to brief them on developments. He, however, would not confirm whether they were going to the First Division or not, saying they would keep things under wraps for now.

“We have said the name change has been processed at the BFA. We are not sure what is going to happen, I just am not ready to divulge information yet. We are not ready,” Ghodrati told Mmegi Sport.

He is aware his players are being courted by Premier League clubs. BDF XI have already written to BMC about national team defender, Mosha Gaolaolwe, who has also attracted interest from Gaborone United. BDF XI and the national team fringe player have agreed on personal terms and now await BMC’s response.

Tshepo Maikano has attracted the interest of both Mochudi Centre Chiefs and Gaborone United while Edwin Mokibe could be on his way to Nico United.

Police XI want Thabo Leinanyane, whose contract with BMC runs out in December, with Letlapeng eyeing Phenyo Magosi. Ghodrati will not have problems with Patrick Mathaba and Zimbabwean striker Nqobile Mpala as their contracts run out at the end of the month.
