“For all the 20 years that I have been with Mafolofolo, we have only had three sponsors,” he said. He stated that getting a sponsor is not about the proposal on the table. “It is about who you know,” he said.

He said his team has overcome the odds to do well in the league. He said it has been difficult for the players to train together since some of them stay outside Gaborone. He said if the team is financially stable, all players would be staying in Gaborone. He laments that the club has battled to attract a sponsor, despite its consistently good showings.

Tomorrow, Mafolofolo are up against BDF VI with top spot at stake. A win for BDF VI will see them catch Mafolofolo and other contenders Kalavango and Kutlwano at the top with all the four sides tied on 13 points. Although Ntshinogang admits the match is going to be tough, he is confident they will emerge victorious.

Mafolofolo have lost only once in five games and will prove a tough nut to crack. BDF VI have been a revelation since coach Selebatso Mabutho joined from the men’s side. They have played four matches, losing just once.

Two other regular contenders, Kalavango and Kutlwano are also on 13 points, but are inactive this weekend. In the other match in Lobatse, Magstimela face Dynamites.

In the men’s league in Lobatse, Magstimela play Police and Prisons while BDF and Mafolofolo square-up.
