Like American artist Kirk Franklin, these musicians fuse the urban hip-hop sounds with some praise lyrics to create a viby brand of gospel. There is Testify, Mrepa wa Eloyi and more are following. Another young man Memo Daniel has joined the bandwagon and will launch his single Cazahh on July 4 at Revealed Word Ministries.

The youngster who is still working on his first release believes that his approach to music will help his peers follow the word of God. “It is not easy to get young people to follow what you are trying to preach.  But if you use the kind of music they closely follow then you can sure reach out to them,” Daniel said While he was optimistic about his chances of success as gospel rapper, Daniel understood the need to produce quality records to attract people to his music.

“I am not only aiming to influence those I go to church with. I am a musician like any other and it would be good if my music could inspire a lot more people,” he said.

At the album launch, Matheke Leteane resurfaces at the after a lengthy absence from the scene. Other established acts expected to perform at the gig are Testify, Mathews Matsetse, Obakeng, Rebirth Praise Unlimited, One 27 and Aregopoleng.
