BDP redefines strategy

The party has set itself a target of winning all the 57 parliamentary constituencies but if they do not attain the target, 85% will be acceptable.  One of the strategies that has been employed by the BDP is setting up of national campaign teams that will be headed by nominated councillor for Southern District Alec Seametso. Seametso was hired on June 16, as a national elections campaign manager.

Seametso said his office will intensify their campaigns in 17 constituencies that are currently under opposition parties. “I will be coordinating campaigns in all constituencies. We will use more resources on constituencies that had been won by opposition and those that some have defected from the BDP with. We have shared some of our strategy with our members in those constituencies and I am confident that we will win those areas,” Seametso said.  Seametso said he would be working hand in hand with National Strategy Committee (NSC) and Political Education and Elections Committee (PEEC) to implement their strategy.

He said they will be holding a workshop on July 4-5 with all their candidates and central committee to share experiences and strategies with them. To carry out its duties and mandates, the national campaigns team has been provided with three vehicles.
