“Preparations are ongoing.  I think by August I will be in the studio.  The album would be released before the end of the year,” he said.

He described himself as a man who does not want to rush to the studio.

“I never want to rush on anything and I don’t believe in releasing an album every year,” he said.

He said taking his time to release is mainly due to the fact that he wants to put out ever-lasting music and not something that people would forget easily.  Boleseng who recently performed at the Premier League’s prize-giving ceremony, said songs from his album are still relevant even when compared to some of the latest releases.  During the Premier League gig, he performed songs from the old album taking revellers down memory lane.

Boleseng is one of the country’s veteran musicians.  His involvement in music goes back to the early ‘80s.  He started playing music with the late scribe and artist, Rampholo ‘Chamza’ Molefhe.

This was before he joined the Botswana Defence Force where he was attached to the music section.  Boleseng who can play a number of musical instruments, has since empowered himself by taking a number of music courses.

Besides his career as a solo artist, Boleseng is also a member of the popular BDF band.  It was at the BDF band where he made his name before he embarked on a solo career.

Many of his fans are looking forward to his next release.  The challenge is whether it will be able to outdo Life Is A Journey. He released the acclaimed album eight years ago and as his debut Afro-jazz album it took the music industry by storm, making it one of the most popular offerings by a local.  The album received massive airplay on radio stations in the country.

After the release of his album, Boleseng became one of the most booked artists in the Afro-jazz circles, touring the whole country.  He further released a DVD as a sequel to the album.
