I wish the matter could be concluded as soon as possible so that if I am not retained, I can map the way forward,” Molapi told Mmegi Sport this week.  “I recently inquired from the club, but I was told that a new committee has been given the mandate to run the club. I was told the committee will look into my issue and get back to me,”he added.

ECCO vice manager, Mothusi Madikwe said they will meet soon to discuss Molapi’s fate. “We will however meet him soon to discuss his suspension and inform him as to whether we are keeping him or not. His contract runs until October if I am not mistaken,” he said. Madikwe added that assistant coach, Oupa Kowa is holding fort on a caretaker basis. Though Madikwe maintains that no decision has been made as to who will coach the club next season, it is believed that Molapi will be shown the door and his successor is the highly-rated Kowa.

The club suspended Molapi in April after a string of poor results. His suspension was to last until the end of the season in May but so far, his fate has not decided.

Molapi guided ECCO to the Mascom Top Eight final two years ago. He has always maintained that the reason the club did not perform well last season is failure to sign quality players to replace those who left. For the first time since their promotion, ECCO finished outside the top eight last season.
