He warned that there is going to be fierce competition in the league championships since other teams like the resurrected Extension Gunners will also be in the race.  Mogomotsi said this is why they have to come up strong this season. 

“There will be fierce competition, but there will only be one champion at the end of the day. We want to be those champions,” he declared. 

For the past five seasons or so, Chiefs have been occupying the top four position. 

This just ended season, they finished fourth after failing to defend the league title that they once won twice in a row.

   He revealed that they resumed their pre season training last week.  The Chiefs official said they intend to play friendly games in South Africa or other neighbouring countries.  Mogomotsi said they are still training at their training ground in Gaborone North. 

He said they expect their new training facility in Tlokweng to be completed in two months. He describes the new facility as a multi purpose centre, adding that they might even host league games there.

The Chiefs official also said they are going to make some new signings.  He said they need a few players to reinforce their squad. Mogomotsi said they have to approach the targeted players’ clubs  first before they can reveal their names.  

However, he said, he cannot identify the players because they have to follow laid down procedures. He said they have to approach the targeted players teams before revealing their names. 

 “I don’t like a wish list, I like it when the new players are already in our camp,” he said.

Mogomotsi said they might also lose one or two players. Already Chiefs has parted ways with creative midfielder Elvis Meleka who has gone back to his home country, Zimbabwe.
