Govt replaces cattle in zone 6 and 7

 

A release from the Ministry of Agriculture says farmers will be compensated for cattle that can be proven to have died since the commencement of the restocking exercise in May 30, 2013 until February 2014.

Cattle that died out of negligence or were slaughtered for consumption will not be covered by this dispensation. Simailarly those which were restocked outside zones 6 and 7 are excluded. Farmerts are requested to present evidence of death of their cattle to veterinary staff deployed at dikgotla  at the following villages from 25-29 June 2014 from 730am-430pm.

Zone 7: Tshokwe, Robelela. Zone 6: Ramokgwebana, tsamaya, Tshesebe, matsiloje, Jackalas2, Butale, Matshelagabedi, Pata-ya-Matebele and Tonota. According to the release evidence of death should include official ear tags and reticular bolus(oman wa dikgomo) receovered from  dead animals or hides clearly showing government brand mark. Farmers will also be required to sign affidavits testifying under oath to the legitimacy of their claims.
