GU, TAFIC wrangle over striker

“It is true we have signed the player. But the unfortunate thing is that TAFIC is giving us a hard time to get the player’s registration book,” said GU secretary, Hebert Letsebe. TAFIC relegated at the end of last season and Nyamadzawo who is reportedly not prepared to go to the lower division with them approached GU to recruit him. It is said TAFIC gave the lanky striker a clearance letter and he signed a two-year contract with GU but his registration book has not been released.

TAFIC insist on GU paying P3,500 as transfer fees. Letsebe said GU have approached the Botswana Premier League to intervene.

TAFIC accuse GU of negotiating with the player behind their back.

“GU has a tendency of undermining us all the time.

I think that is why they are accusing us of not being cooperative when it comes to transfer of players,” said interim TAFIC chairperson, Manyika Max Gwakuba.

He explained that the player was given his release letter under the impression he was joining his former team in Mozambique. He said TAFIC had to release the player due to an agreement with the Mozambican club.

“We have got nothing against GU or any other team in the Premier League. The problem with GU is that they do not follow rules and regulations,” charged Gwakuba.
