Contestants caught napping on task Songs

Chief judge, Keabetswe ‘Master Dee’ Sesinyi expressed his disappointment at the poor performance and emphasised how important it is for each each contestant to know their song. He urged the contestants to put more effort into their task songs.

Commenting on Boikanyo’s performance, Sesinyi said his song’s chorus was not catchy enough. He did, however, commend him for getting most of the verses right.  Kgomotso Tshwenye shared similar sentiments: She said it seemed as though Boikanyo had no interest in the song and was only singing it because he didn’t have a choice.

Shanti Lo differed with the two, instead applauding the contestant for  his improvement looking at how this time, he remembered his lines. However, he warned Boikanyo against being monotonous in his task songs or else he would not make it to the final stage of the competition.

Despite some uninspiring performances on the part of some of the contestants, the entire programme was not all gloom.  Leonard, Peter, Ontefetse, Obakeng and Tshegofatso impressed the judges.

Tshegofatso set the room on fire with her fabulous take on Beyonce’s, Crazy In Love.

She was applauded for her attempt. Tshegofatso was also commended for the energy she displayed when performing her task song. She went on stage with charged up energy and was accompanied by two dancers whose moves Shanti Lo described as “sexy”.

The judges said she had finally unleashing the diva in her, adding that she has never displayed such a beautiful performance.

Peter and Leonard kickstarted the show with Neyo’s Mad, captivating most of the female audience.  As usual, fan favourites Obakeng and Boikanyo stole the show with Westlife’s, Queen Of My Heart.

Ontefetse, Elnny and Tshegofatso looked stunning in their matching outfits.

Elnny’s journey on the show ended after she had to battle it out with Obakeng for the slot in the top six and Obakeng was saved by judges.  Initially, both Sesinyi and Tshwenyego seemed reluctant to give him their vote, but they later relented.  Elnny was handed her consolation prize of P3,500.
