Peter lives to see another My Star day

The energetic aspiring star treated his fans to a splendid performance at the Botswana Television (Btv) Auditorium that night.  Together with his dancing crew he sang both his song of choice and task song beautifully.  The dance moves displayed left the woman screaming at the top of their voices while other audience-members watched with smiles on their faces. Peter and his crew performed so well so much that some fans were willing to dig into their pockets for money to splash in thanks on the young man.

However, with a contest where one has to rely on the audience vote, some find their egos bruised and their spirits knocked down some notches when they fail to gain more favour to stay in the competition.

Whether due to lack of support or the stiff competition Kago’s fans had to bid him farewell after both male judges decided to keep Peter in the show instead of him. Unfortunately, this time around Kago had run his luck out following a possible elimination from My Star during the top 10 launch.  Then, the judges had played a prank on him and the beautiful Elnny when both were told to sing for their survival in the competition.

Even though his dream to be crowned My Star 2014 winner ended, Kago who was lucky enough to have reached the top 10.  He did not go home empty-handed as he walked away with P3,500 cheque courtesy of Choppies Superstore, also sponsor of the show.

Boikanyo and Ontefetse who are not first-time competitors were amongst those who did great in the competition even though they seem to be facing difficulties pleasing the judges and audience alike.  However, the two gentlemen are fighting with all they have to get their hands on the grand prize.

One of the most brilliant performers, Elnny displayed a beautiful performance again.  Her ability to flow with any song and her beautiful dance moves gained her more fans leaving many pleased. Like always she left the judges satisfied with her brilliant performance.

Leonard and Obakeng also displayed satisfying performances while Tshegofatso annoyed the judges after she decided to change the task song she was given and opted to write a new one.  Her attitude upset the judges who strongly warned her not to repeat the same mistake as that could cost her a place in the competition.

This year’s My Star edition is no doubt the toughest for contestants as a lot of them are really talented with many showing pockets of brilliance in their individual performances.  Even taking a stab at the task songs for the contestants has been a welcome challenge despite being their first attempt at creating their own sound and melody or singing songs they have never heard before.
