Yesterday BAYGOC CEO Tuelo Serufho confirmed that Tshuku was rushed to GPH as a result of a previous illness that he failed to disclose to the Games’ organisers.
He also stated that the original Tshuku had to be replaced by a standby mascot for the rest of the games.
Tshuku became the butt of jokes when he was launched with condom like features although he was originally designed to resemble a rhino and propagate the message of rhino conservation.
The mascot has been unmasked as popular Township Rollers fan, Sam Rakgowa.
