He has followed in the footsteps of others like former Afro soul crooner Kgotla Kgaodi, Vusi Mtokufa and Joel Keitumele.

The Mahalapye-born Mosekwa featured famous South African gospel musician Derrick Nzimande in his debut in 1999 earning the respect of peers and fans alike.

However, Moloinyana, remains his best remembrance song by far.

This is despite the fact that he released five more albums since then.

He has been keeping a low profile since emerging with an album of great appeal 15 years ago.

His last album, Ska Wa Boela Morago, was released two years ago.

It has done little to affirm him as a gospel musician of high pedigree although the musician insists it is doing well.

He has just finished recording his new album and notes he would not rush its release “as Ska Boela Morago was still selling well”.

While he seemed to have confidence in his talent Mosekwa believes it was time to start ‘serving God’ in other ways.

“Since 1993 I have listened to my message of deliverance and now it is time I discharged my responsibilities fully,” said Mosekwa.

Mosekwa has formed his own church called Pool of Living Waters, which officially opens its doors to worshipers next week in Lerala and Mahalapye, according to the musician.

He and his wife will be pastors in the ‘fire’ church, he said.

Despite his new responsibility Mosekwa insisted his music career would not be adversely affected.

“I will just divide my time between church and music properly because both are very important to me.

God gave me the wisdom to spread His word through music and now I will be ministering,” he said.

While many locals are complaining of poor album sales Mosekwa said that artists should step up to the challenge.

“I cannot complain much because I do a lot of promotions at malls and it is then that I sell a lot of my copies. Albums sell slowly in music stores,” he told Showbiz.
