Barclays takes lucky clients to Brazil World Cup

Muhammed Mussa Ismail and his partner will attend the World Cup semi-finals while Victor Ramalepa and his partner will attend the final. The World Cup prize package includes return tickets, three nights accommodation at a four-star hotel and Visa prepaid money vouchers.
On Friday, Barclays Bank Botswana Managing Director, Reinette Van Der Merwe, handed over the prizes for the Swipe and Win campaign as well as the FIFA World Cup tickets.
The Swipe and Win campaign rewarded customers who swiped for a minimum amount of P100.00 between December and January this year while the Brazil World Cup competition rewarded lucky customers who swiping for a minimum amount of P500 between February to April. Besides the World Cup dream prize, five other Swipe and Win winners each walked away with a P20,000 home makeover prize.
“We used a very effective and reliable online based system referred to as ‘random oc’ for selection which randomly picked the winners,” said Barclays Head of Product and Portfolio for Cards, Diakolo Moroka explained. Speaking after his World Cup prize win, Ramalepa said: “Barclays has always been a part of my life as my father served it for almost 40 years. Today I am grateful for this opportunity and want to thank them for the privilege. “If it was not for them, when was I ever going to go to Brazil?”. Mercy Zanele Ntolongo, who won a home improvement voucher, revealed that she usually swiped for her goods and services as she had forgotten her card’s pin number.
“I am very humbled for winning this money as I was not expecting it,” she said.
