In what is dubbed an event set to market Lobatse as one of the major players in the beef industry the festival was set to kick start at 1100hrs, but meat lovers only became visible at around 2:00 pm.

At the gate, patrons were handed meat with a packet of 500g steak and boer wors for braai. Different stalls of both private and public organisations were set up by saturday morning.

Both the young and old made their way to the much publicised show. Warona Mbati, who had come with his family told Showtime that this was his first time at the  event.

‘I am so glad I managed to attend this year’s event. We do not get a chance here in Lobatse to host an event of this magnitude. I missed the first event last year because then I had a work trip.”

In the evening the crowd was treated to mouth watering perfomances from jazz singer Poifo, traditional dance group Seragantshwane, Polka dance group as well as Team Distant of Oni korota fame.

Although the perfomances were over the top, it was youthful rapper, Dramaboi who got the masses on their feet.

His hit singles, utlwa and candy got attendants eating off his palm singing along to the lyrics.

Dramaboi wrapped up his set with his song featuring, Nnunu.

Throughout the day, there was a competition of the best stall which was judged by GabzFm representatives.

Ultimately, sweet burn restaurant walked away with the best stall of the day prize.

The show would not have been fun without some good laughs,Former Btv news reader, Enerst Phiri had attendants on their knees.

The Assistant District commisioner was called on stage to give a vote of thanks, but Phiri turned into a joke. Instead of giving out the vote of thanks, Phiri executed his dance moves throwing the crowd into fits of laughter as they also started dancing.

Phiri kept repeating the words ‘Gabz fm crew heloo.

Reginald helooo, give them a round of applause’.

Phiri ended his tricks by pulling off his dance moves on stage, ultimately walking away without giving any word about the vote of thanks.
