Speaking at the event, General Manager Riaan Marais, a winemaker of repute himself, said that it was befitting for Lengau to open a tasting room.

He said that it has been a long time coming looking at the fact that they are wine distributors.

Furthermore, he expressed that the tasting room will improve their clientele relations, as their clients will get a chance to taste the wines freely before purchase.

Marais said that they have over 30 brands of wine, as well as 300 different wines to be tasted.

He encouraged the public to come for the tasting, which comes with tutorials and recommendations on the wines at hand.

In addition Lengau will on June 7, 2014 host a Wine Makers Expo at the Grand Palm.

The Expo will include some big names in the winemaking industry that include Durbanville Hills, Zonnebloem, Pongracz and Flat Roof Manor among others.

Marais said that the Expo is aimed at bringing the wine makers behind some of Batswana’s favourite wines to interact and engage with their consumers.

He added that consumers will have a chance to meet the wine makers, ask them questions about the wines, and wine-making methods.  They will also have an opportunity to taste wines they have not tasted before.

The entrance fee is P100 and children under 18 years get in free.
