Basket Ball: Saturday round-up

The basket ball games are hosted at the Botswana National Youth Centre grounds just behind Madirelo Training Centre. 

So far the Botswana boy’s team has been doing well, winning two games that they played against Kenya and the highly rated Morocco.  Urged by the home crowd support, the local lads proved to be formidable.   

The Botswana girls’s team lost their opening match 15-14 against Angola but salvaged national pride when they walloped Mauritius 13-5 in their next game. 

In the other girls matches, Mali defeated Mozambique 7-5 but the Mozambiquans went on to narrowly beat Algeria 12-11 while in another ladies’ game, Angola trounced Zimbabwe 8-6.  Mali earned soft points against Nigeria who failed to turn up for the games. 

The basket ball games attracted a good crowd.
