Table Tennis: Draw for the second stage

The top two teams in the each group have qualified to play for positions 1 to 16. 

Both Botswana’s players: Olarato Ramagapu (women’s singles) and Peo Thebe (men’s singles) have made it to this tough stage of the competition. 

The other teams which took third and fourth positions, will play in the second stage for position 17 to 24. 

The draw for the second stage was made last night.   In the women’s singles category, Botswana is in Group D with Angola, Mauritius and Congo Brazzaville. 

The women’s Group A is made up of Egypt, Ethiopia, Madagascar and Kenya.  Group B is composed of Ghana, Algeria and Uganda. 

Nigeria, South Africa, Rwanda and Seychelles make up Group C.

In the men’s singles, Botswana still finds itself in Group D with Congo Brazzaville, Cote d’Ivoire and Zambia.  Egypt, South Africa, Mauritius and Seychelles slug it out in Group A. 

Group B will see Algeria fighting it out with Angola,  Kenya and Togo.  Group C will be Ghana, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Liberia. 

All the games are played at Youth Centre.
