During their stay, P4CM is also expected to conduct a skills exchange workshop with Body Arts members.

In an interview, Project Music coordinator Kinsley Sayed said that he has engaged his services to Body Arts.  He said that Body Arts is a poetry collective of young and upcoming poets who need a platform.

Sayed said that the evening would be hosted under the theme Rep Him Well, which has a Christian connotation to it.  He said the message behind Rep Him Well is to urge people to let their life choices speak for them.

A former member of Exodus Live Poetry, Sayed said that young Batswana have talent, but the challenge lies in packaging their projects and taking them to the people.  He added that Body Arts has been in action for some time now and has been doing poetry shows at Maru-a-Pula School’s the Moving Space theatre.

He added that as a collective Body Arts stands a chance to succeed rather than if it were one individual doing a solo project.

Sayed expressed that he is trying to give a helping hand by developing the arts in Botswana looking at the fact that he used to be a poet.

He said that he is working on encouraging the Body Arts collective to work on a project, find a theme for it and get to record.

“Hopefully after the project is packaged we will then find the rightful platforms to market and sell it,“ he said.

The spoken word event will be held at Mantlwaneng, Westwood.
