The player told Mmegi Sport yesterday that he expects proper communication from the soccer authorities.

The gritty midfielder who declined to join the Zebras squad recently because the call-up came late said he has nothing against the coach, Peter Butler.

Butler recently told the media it was criminal to snub national duty. Gabanamong does not understand why his absence always cause controversy.

“I am a father. I have got a family. All the time the association wants to communicate late.

The coach made some remarks about me not reporting for duty. I feel it is not my problem, but that of the association,” Gabonamong said.

He said his name has unnecessarily been mentioned in a negative way. He wants the situation to be amicably resolved.

But he was not amused with the coach’s utterances that he will not look for people in the cattle post.

“I expect the association and the coach to respect me as much as I respect them. I will always support the Zebras and we want the coach to do well.

The most important thing is the result. We should not take issues personally, otherwise we all lose integrity,” he said.
