After a two-year break, the trio is now confident that their fanbase will increase with their new offering.

Speaking to Showbiz yesterday, group leader Kabelo Mogwe said Batswana had been demanding for them to release something new.

“I have been getting questions of whether the group has broken up or not, but people should rest assured that the group is still together.  This year we are stronger than ever,” he said.

Mogwe added that the reason why they took long to release another album is because they were busy with shows.

“Many people think that we disappeared from the entertainment scenes but truly speaking we did not. We have been booked for so many shows that we lost track of time.  It has been a busy two years for the group, but we hope Batswana will receive this latest album with open arms and forgive us for our absence,” he said.

The album, which has eight tracks, is said to be doing well in sales.

“I always get calls for deliveries as it always flies off the shelves.  It is evident that Batswana love this album and cannot get enough of it,” he said.

He said they decided to add two more songs on this album, departing from their usual six track albums.

“Batswana wanted more and that is exactly what we gave them.  They told us that six songs are not enough for them as they want to hear our music more so because this music is for them.  We want to please them in any possible way,” he said.

Mogwe said the name of the album comes from one of the tracks.  He said Kulanche is a song about a man who broke up with his partner because of the advice that his friends gave him, adding that Kulanche is a term from Sesarwa language.

“Like our previous hit Kulenyane, we wanted to tell a story in a song and we used the character of this man called Kulanche who receives bad advice and later regrets taking it when things turn sour,” he said.

Mogwe explained that the song carries a vital message, which Batswana should take note of. He said the song talks about respect, trust and praying.

“It basically says that all relationships have to be based on these three qualities for them to survive for a long time,” he said.

He emphasised that all songs in the album carry different messages on survival skills, adding that it will be a bargain for any Motswana to own it.

Mogwe said while all songs in the album are good, Batswana should look out for Ragele, Magosi, Megolokwane and the title track Kulanche.

Mogwe added that the launch for the new album is scheduled for end of July.

He said they are not in a rush to launch the album, as they want Batswana to know it and love it so that when they do, the fans are in a position to sing the lyrics.
