The envisaged foundation will be called Ndaba Gaolathe Foundation. The Umbrella for Democratic Change candidate told Mmegi that the mission of the foundation is to conceive and implement informal curriculum and echo-system to support aspiring and practicing entrepreneurs.

The foundation will also support aspiring engineers, scientists, artists, leaders, management specialists and other professionals.

It also strives to groom young people – girls and boys –  on life-skills, self-improvement, discipline, excellence, leadership and innovation at the early stages of their development.

Gaolathe said the objective is to mobilise, nurture and utilise a wide constellation of tutors, mentors, teachers, teachers and even institutions around the world to impart knowledge, insights and skills to the foundation’s beneficiaries.

The foundation will also identify deserving beneficiaries, initially within Gaborone, then in the rest of Botswana, and then Africa as a whole, and Asia. Gaolathe said the foundation would pay out examination fees, course fees, school fees and other forms of bursaries to deserving beneficiaries.

“The foundation will also select candidate entrepreneurs for special support including financial special by the foundation,” said Gaolathe.

On the board will be high achievers of impeccable personal and professional integrity, preferably retired professionals with impeccable integrity from around the world.

The board will also consider strategy and programmes, in relation to stated vision and feasibility. It will also conceive and direct the fund-raising drive for the foundation.
