Her unexplained disappearance left her fans wondering what might have become of the talented vocalist.

She demonstrated great potential in her first attempt and her duet with Eugene Jackson seemed to cement her status as one of the finest local talents.

Now Dikobe, who hails from Mabalane in the Kgatleng district, is set to return as Miss Helen with a new album called Roots. Her manager Karabo Mokgware has confirmed to Showbiz that Dikobe has been studying music in South Africa, and that her second album is due for release in July.  “She has been studying music, majoring in jazz and obviously she needed to focus hence she suspended recording and performances.  But I can assure you she comes back a better musician.  Her album is complete and ready for release,” Mokgware said.

Mokgware said it is important for artists to study music, as that will make them better musicians.

“Helen sponsored herself to study music she comes back polished and better equipped to take her career to another level. There is maturity, better creativity and her rhythm has improved a lot. Clearly her talent has been properly guided by professionals,” he said.

Mokgware also noted that his company, Diamond Life Productions has re-branded the musician hence the name change.  He noted that among other things, they are changing the musician’s image to fit the type of music she does.

“She now does Afro-pop with a jazz fusion in a contemporary form and she has to look the part of a mature musician,” he said.

The musician is booked for her first performance in a long time at the beMOBILE awards in June.
