One of the organisors of the event, Mompati Nwako, indicated that they decided to do the Cycle Challenge as it is a fun and exciting sport and also it is very healthy.

“This is a very good opportunity for mountain biking lovers to come and do what they like. Those who want to enter can get entry forms on Time project website, who are one of the sponsors,” he said.

He added that they hope that upto 50 companies including up to 200 participants will enter providing the opportunity for bragging rights between companies; camaraderie between colleagues or simply a day out for the family.

“The Cycle Challenge is a race that is intended to involve corporates, other groups such as families and individuals and so I urge people to come in large numbers to make this event a success,” he said.

He said they do not have many sponsors and are looking for more sponsors to come on board.  “This is thus far the biggest project ever undertaken by the club and it will costs P17m. The Mochudi project involves designing and constructing a newly identified site, new premises that will increase the number of children from the current 78 to 200,” he said.

Nwako further added that the cycle event will feature on the annual sport calendar. “There will be a pre-determined race track that participants will need to go round. To reach the end one will need to navigate the track a predetermined number of times. Any changeovers similar to relays, in the case of teams will be done at the start. These will be the activities of the day,” he said.
