'We do not like the situation that is happening in Nigeria at the moment, there are people's lives that are in danger but because we are a small association we cannot do anything about this situation,' he said in a brief interview yesterday.

Dada expressed his sincere sympathy to the families of the girls involved in the incident.

He added that Islam is a religion about peace so he is disappointed with the way Boko Haram is presenting the religion to the public. 'The Boko Haram group are giving people the impression that Islam is a bad religion while infact it is not. These people are trying to settle scores but they are using the religion to do this, which is wrong,' he said.

The girls were abducted on the night of April 15, and latest reports from international  news outlets showed pictures of the girls clad in Islam regalia and praying. Some of them, (50) managed to escape when they were being transported, while 276 are still in captivity. A video was also shown on international news showing a camouflage-clad man, holding an AK47 rifle shouting: 'I swear to almighty Allah, you will not see them again until you release our brothers that you have captured.

'He said the girls, most of whom are Christians, had converted to Islam.  In the latest eNCA news, it is reported that residents of a northeastern Nigerian village say they killed and arrested scores of suspected Boko Haram militants that they believed planned to launch an attack.
