Having lived in Botswana since 2007 he has produced a number of songs and albums for upcoming as well as established artists like Odirile 'Vee' Sento.  However, the Ugandan-born producer reckons Zimbabwe has become greener than anywhere else.

Although he still shuttles between Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe, Dr Tawanda is of the belief that it is the perfect time to settle down at home.  He has set his sights on the challenges being presented in the Zimbabwean music industry.

'I left for Zimbabwe in December 2013.  It is like I was going for the Christmas holidays and that was it,' said Tawanda in an interview with Showbiz during (Oupa Mutasa) DJ Gouveia's wedding ceremony in Francistown on Sunday.

Dr Tawanda, who mixes music from his bedroom, said spreading his wings across Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa would present him with new challenges, which means he will have to do much more to succeed.

In Zimbabwe, Dr Tawanda said he knows the Zimbabwean market like the back of his hand.

'It is time now to face challenges being presented by the South African music industry.  South Africa is regarded as the powerhouse for everything in Southern Africa, if not the rest of the continent,' he said.

With his fellow countrymen, DJ Oskido (Oscar Mdlongwa) dominating the South African music industry, Dr Tawanda is confident that he has got the capability and capacity to have his fair share of the market.

'But that does not mean I am dumping artists in Botswana.  We will be working closely by either me coming here to do their stuff or them visiting me in Zimbabwe,' said the man behind Vee's hit song, Baba and DJ Gouveia's Chinomudana.

For local musicians such as Vee, DJ Gouveia and Slizer (Naledi Kaisara) who target the Zimbabwean market, Dr Tawanda's relocation to his native nation could work for them.

Vee's business manager, Johnson Gotselewame, said Dr Tawanda's relocation to Zimbabwe is a 50/50 situation.

'If we want Dr Tawanda, he comes over and does the production. So his relocation will not affect the Black Money Makers stable in any way,' said Gotselewame.
