Police in song for charity

The late night show themed songs of charity was a breath of fresh air for majority who thronged the SSG Band Hall for some live traditionally infused songs with a touch of choral, dance and awesome instrumentals.

Not only did the audience seem thrilled but also many were left asking for more when the military band opened the act with some beautiful rendition of Setswana melodies as they caressed their saxophones and trumpets much to the delight of the audience.

The military band displayed a high level of discipline and skills on their instruments as they belted out  songs like makgwelwa and sebokolodi before being joined on stage by a well known choral choir, KTM.

KTM choir had to take the notch a bit higher with the band dishing out setswana known medley Mmangwane before taking the already ecstatic audience on a trip down memory lane with the rendition of different cultural songs like the one normally sang on wedding days, re se tsere Segametsi.

The combination of the band and the choir was a marvel to watch for the audience who started dishing out money in appreciation to the outstanding performance of the groups and it was difficult for the KTM and the band  to leave the stage when the time was up, as the audience won’t let them.

But more was still to come as the show continued with the country’s most loved actor, Kenneth Nkomo of the popular police drama series  Itshireletse, who on the night  took to the stage on some comedy spree.

Nkomo might be known for his excellent acting skills on the local television but it seems like he is a man of many talents as he proved with his  comedy skills.

He indeed held his own  dishing out some laughs to the much appreciative audience.

The show had a variety giving the audience all the elements of a solid entertainment including dances like ballroom, kwasa kwasa, pantsula and traditional dance.

The traditional dance troupe and KTM choir who came on stage  for the second round were amazing. Good thing that the pride and joy of Batswana being traditional dance never gets old or boring as the audience attested to that when they gave the groups a standing ovation when they both left the stage.

Normally when the audience spends the entire show being on the edge of their seats, screaming on top of their voices and not even wanting to move an itch, it is no lie that it’s a good show and that it needs more attention in future more so that it was for a good cause.
