The two co-accused, Paul Paledi and Berndt Astrom were left out of an order that forced the prosecution to provide further particulars to Seretse. Yesterday, defence attorney, Thabiso Tafila, told Mmegi that the duo was not clear on how the order affected them.

“Today’s mention is to seek clarity on how the order affects the two other co-accused and hopefully set trial dates,” said Tafila.

It is alleged that on February 14, 2008 in Gaborone, whilst employed as Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC) CEO, Seretse proposed to deal with Serala (Pty) Ltd., a company owned by Paledi, without disclosing his interest in the company. Seretse is accused of directing Astrom and another man to recruit eight BTC employees to offer their services to Serala.

The State plans to call 44 witnesses against the accused.
