Letlapeng chairperson, Kabo Magagane has told Mmegi Sport that there is no reason to part with the coach who won the First Division title and guided the club to its first qualification to the topflight. He said Nthaga still has a year remaining in his contract. He praised the coach as a hard worker who delivered.

The club meets for its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday in Ramotswa to prepare for its maiden Premier League appearance. The meeting at Mokgosi Primary School starts at 9am. Magagane said the coach is expected to reveal his plan for the Premier League campaign. The club aims to retain the core of the team and beef up the squad with eight players with Premier League experience.  “We should also beef our technical department by engaging a physical trainer, a medic and a goalkeeper coach. We will establish if our two assistant coaches have the necessary papers needed in the Premier League and if not, we will take them for training,” said Magagane. He said at the AGM will map the way forward after the general membership is updated about the state of the club in the last three years. He said meeting will discuss the budget needed to sustain the team in the league. Magagane estimates that in the first round, the club needs approximately P400,000 for travelling and other expenses. He said they would prioritise camping like they did when they were in the First Division and luxuries like hotel accommodation would come later after they have established themselves in the elite league. He stated that the meeting would have to come up with names of potential technical sponsors.  “We are going to agree on the home ground, either the National Stadium or the New Lobatse Stadium. We have a choice of using our own ground if we can maintain it up to the required standard,” he said.

The meeting will choose a committee to steer the team next season.
