The band famous in their homeland for their soulful and melodic voices consists of five members.

The organisor of the event, Ronald Chuma told Showbiz that they decided to bring the group as they share the same vision as Chronicles Music Ministry.

“Their mission is to encourage young people in African countries to sing gospel. This they believe, will reduce delinquency as the time spent practicing and singing will be time spent away from alcohol or drugs,” he said.

Chuma explained that as youths they decided to form a gospel group in 2002, which focused on spreading the word through singing.  Their debut album, Se Mphete was released in 2005.

He mentioned that both the groups aspire to empower youths of today that life with God is far better and safer than sex, drugs and alcohol.

“Our group was formed to minister God’s word through song so as to reach out to young and old to present a message of hope.  We have been invited to sing in different denominations in Gaborone, Mochudi, Moshupa, Lobatse, Kanye, Molepolole, and across the border in Bulawayo.  We were also invited to sing at the gospel music awards in 2012,” he said.

He added that the Zambian group has also done wonders in their country in terms of spreading the gospel. “They have thus far been changed lives not only in their country but also in other African countries. They are always travelling to different countries preaching the word through song,” he said.

He said the Zambian group will arrive on May 23, adding that prior to the event, the group will sing at a few places around town as a way of reaching out to the people who might not be able to make it to the event.

“The event will be a night of gospel music, mainly a four part Accapela, which cuts across all ages.

The messages in the songs that the 1844 Music Ministries sing are what we need to become caring and compassionate citizens as we draw close to 2016,” he said.

He further mentioned that those who will be attending the event should expect a powerful night of worship. “We have made the event in a way that will appeal to different age groups.

We have catered for all ages as they will be fun youthful songs and also mature songs.  Batswana should come in large numbers as it will be a night that will go down in history as one of the best,” he said.
