Lattimore is popular for the wedding favourite For You, and other hit songs like Never Too Busy, Love Will Find A Way, Things That Lovers Do, While My Guitar Gently Weeps and From The Soul Of Man.

Lattimore’s music career spans as far back as the time he spent as an R&B group member of Maniquin.  In 1996 Lattimore released his solo debut album titled Kenny Lattimore at Columbia Records.  The album was a huge hit followed with another equally successful album titled From The Soul Of Man.

He released another album Weekend in 2001, but it failed to impress.  Lattimore later teamed up with his then wife, Chante Moore, and recorded an album of duets titled Things That Lovers Do.  The album offered new versions of songs by other R&B singers, including Keith Sweat, Marvin Gaye and many others.

The album only had two original songs.  After releasing a greatest hits compilation in 2004, Lattimore returned with another project featuring Moore titled Uncovered/Covered in 2006.

Lattimore is currently working on his latest album, which is due for release in August 2014 to be titled Being One.

BP Implements managing director, Kgosietsile Mariri, said the concert, which will be a corporate event, would include dinner.  He added that the concert is an opportunity for fans to interact in a relaxed atmosphere while enjoying the music of one of the best R&B singers.

“Botswana is a small market compared to other countries like South Africa, Kenya or Zimbabwe, but there is a big appetite for American music in the country,” he said.

He noted that this would be the first time Lattimore performs in Botswana.  He said that the show promises to be memorable.

“We look forward to partnering with organisations that can help the country sell its story to the American audience.  America is a big market for Botswana diamond and tourism products hence we want Lattimore to take the Botswana story with him,” Mariri said.
